PM to visit Assam on first day of Bohag Bihu to launch projects worth Rs 8,500 crore in Guwahati

Assam is preparing to create a world record by staging 11,000 artistes for Bihu Live Dance on April 14. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Expressed interest in witnessing the historic moment live in the state.

The PM will visit Assam on the first day of Bohag Bihu to launch projects worth Rs 8,500 crore in Guwahati.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach the LGBI airport in Guwahati at 11.30 am on April 14. He will then fly to IIT-Guwahati by helicopter from LGBI airport. After this he will attend the inauguration program of AIIMS-Guwahati. Three other medical colleges will be inaugurated virtually from the campus of AIIMS. The other medical college hospitals are Nagaon, Kokrajhar and Nalbari.”

He said that on April 14, Prime Minister Modi will symbolically start the distribution of Ayushman cards to the ration card holders of the state.

“The state government in its recent budget had emphasized on a health insurance scheme named Mukhyamantri Ayushman Assam on the lines of the central government’s Ayushman Bharat scheme. By April 14, Ayushman cards will be made for 1.10 crore ration card holders. PM Modi will reach Khanapara Veterinary Field from IIT-Guwahati by helicopter. From there Prime Minister Shrimant Sankardev will go to Kalakshetra. The Prime Minister will then attend a function at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra where he will attend the closing ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the Gauhati High Court.”

“In the evening, he will leave for Surasajai Stadium to see 11,000 Bihu dancers come together and create a Guinness World Record for the largest group live performance in the world,” he added.

As stated by the Chief Minister, the value of all the projects to be inaugurated by PM Modi is more than Rs 8,500 crore.
