Jai Akash often found himself in the eye of controversies.

One film producer accused Jai Akash of hiring men to attack him.

Jai Akash, also known as Akash, is primarily known for his work in Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada films. Soon after he made his debut in 2001 with the film Anandam, he managed to rise to prominence within a few years of the beginning of his career. Director K Balachander spotted Akash when he was looking for a new actor through a Star Search platform to portray the second lead in Rojavanam (1999). Everything was going well for Akash, but he was sent to jail after he gave a flop film. Wondering why? Let us explain.

In 2005, the film Gurudeva was released. It was headlined by Jai Akash. The film was a disaster at the box office. The Telugu version of the film, Guru also failed to attract the audience. The reason behind Gurudeva’s failure was that the executive producer Muppa Ankanna Rao failed to promote the film. Rao then filed a complaint to the police, in which it was mentioned that Akash had hired attackers to threaten him for failing to publicise the film. In the aftermath, Akash was arrested. Later, he was released.

Then, in 2009, Jai Akash filed a complaint against actress Sunaina, following allegations from her claiming that she was not a part of the intimate scenes in the film Madhan and that the director used a body double. Jai Akash refuted the claims and said that she wanted to distance herself from the film, and thus the allegations.

Akash’s first film was directed by Sreenu Vaitla and produced by Ramoji Rao. The critically acclaimed film won many awards for the actor’s excellent natural acting. He became a superstar overnight. He was flooded with countless projects and acted in several Telugu films including Pilisthe Palukutha alongside Shamitha Shetty. It was directed by Kodi Ramakrishna and the songs were composed by MM Keeravani. He made a comeback to Tamil films in 2003 with the film Inidhu Inidhu Kadhal Inidhu opposite Neha. The film, produced by Ramoji Rao, was a remake of Anandam. He starred in six Tamil films between 2004 and 2005 including Ramakrishna, KichVayasu16, Gurudeva, Sevvel, Amudhae and Kaatrullavarai, before getting embroiled in a series of controversies.
