Over a decade after its initial release, the 2013 action comedy film ‘Besharam’ starring Ranbir Kapoor is once again making headlines. Actor Brijendra Kala recently disclosed that he had been slated to play a significant role in the movie but was asked to exit the project after filming for 10 days.

Brijendra Kala is recognized for his impactful performances in various movies such as ‘Jab We Met,’ ‘Love per Square Foot,’ ‘Paan Singh Tomar,’ ‘Bhootnath Returns,’ and ‘PK’, among others. In a recent interview with The Lallantop, he opened up about the challenges he has encountered in his acting career.

Reflecting on his experience, Kala shared his excitement about sharing the screen for the first time with Rishi Kapoor in Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Besharam,’ only to be informed of his dismissal from the film after a brief period of shooting. Kala mentioned that despite initially being cast in an important negative role, he was eventually removed from the project due to its prolonged runtime and production issues, “I was excited. Kapoor saab (Rishi Kapoor) said, ‘First time hum saath mein dikhenge (we will be seen together for the first time). But when I realised that I was not being involved in any song sequences or further scenes, I went up to them and asked what was the problem. They told me, ‘Picture bahot lambi hogayi hai, bahot dikkat aarahi hai (The film is too long and we are facing a lot of issues) and they scrapped my part,” he shared.

Directed by Abhinav Kashyap, ‘Besharam’ was highly anticipated in 2013, following Kashyap’s successful 2010 film ‘Dabangg.’ Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Pallavi Sharda, Neetu Kapoor, and Rishi Kapoor, the film failed to perform well at the box office upon its release.
