‘Who is Shahrukh Khan? I don’t know anything about him or his film Pathan.

Amid violent protests by Bajrang Dal in Assam against Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan film, state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that he does not know ‘Pathan-Sathan’. He asked, “Who is Shah Rukh Khan?” And said that he does not know anything about the film.

Talking to the media, CM Sarma said, “I don’t know anything about him or his film Pathan. I don’t know who Shahrukh is. If there is any protest which has created law and order situation in the state, we will look into it. But I am not going to see Pathan. I will watch the Assamese film Dr. Bezbarua – Part 2 which will also release and people of Assam should watch it.”

“Shah Rukh Khan has not called me to watch Pathan. Why would I watch it? I will watch an Assamese film.” he added

On Friday, there was a protest in a theater in Narengi city. People burnt posters of the film and ransacked the theatre, in front of which Pathan’s poster was hanging.

He said, “A film which is against Indian culture and a song Besharam Rang Deepika Padukone Wearing saffron colored bikini cannot be encouraged. This is a conspiracy to defame our religion. We will not allow this film to be screened in Assam and anywhere in India.”

Bajrang Dal had earlier said that it would not allow the film to be released in Gujarat because the film “insults” Hinduism. Multiplex owners in Gujarat have demanded protection from cinema halls in the state.

It should be mentioned that many political leaders have spoken against the Besharam Rang song.

However, PM Modi himself advised BJP leaders to avoid making unnecessary comments on films.
