When Russian Sputnik V will be administered at 5 government facilities in Gurugram from July – details

Gurugram: In Haryana’s Gurugram, the health department is all set to provide the Russian COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V free of cost at five government health centers, giving a major push to the vaccination drive in the state.

The Russian-made vaccine against COVID-19 is expected to be available from the first week of July.

Gurugram Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Virendra Yadav said that the health department has made necessary arrangements to administer the Russian jab, which will be administered free of cost on a first-come-first-served basis in Gurugram under Corporate Social Responsibility. . (CSR) program.

News agency IANS quoted Yadav as saying, “The health department has made all necessary arrangements for the storage of Sputnik V. We installed deep freezers to maintain the required temperature Sputnik V in the polyclinic in Sector 10, Civil Hospital, Sector 31. Wazirabad Community Health Center, and Sub-Divisional Government Hospitals at Sohna and Pataudi.”

With this, Gurugram district will be the first district in the state to conduct free Russian jab at government facilities. Presently, Fortis Memorial Research Institute is the only hospital in Haryana which introduced Sputnik V as part of pilot soft launch last week.

Meanwhile, the Union Health Ministry reported that India has broken all previous weekly vaccination records, distributing around 3.3 crore doses from June 21 to June 26. The previous high was 2.47 million shots, delivered in a week between April 3 and April 9. .
