WhatsApp for iOS gets the ability to listen to voice messages in individual chats – Times of India

WhatsApp, according to a report last year, was working on a global voice note player that would allow users to play voice messages even after leaving a chat. This feature has now started rolling out for some users. According to WaBetaInfo – Online Platform That Tracks WhatsApp Features, Global Voice Note Player is available on WhatsApp Beta for iOS.
What is the Global Voice Note Player feature on WhatsApp?
Currently, a voice message stops when a user leaves a particular chat and returns to the chat list or opens another chat. With the new feature, voice messages will continue to play in the background even if the user swipes backwards or opens another chat. It should be noted that the Global Voice Note Player feature does not have an official name. WhatsApp hasn’t confirmed it yet.
According to the report, this feature is currently being rolled out to some iOS beta testers, including whatsapp business Beta. Whatsapp messenger Beta for iOS 22.1.72 and WhatsApp Business Beta for iOS 22.1.72 have been marked as compatible updates for the new feature. Its wide rollout is expected in the near future.
For Android users, the feature is still under development and there is no news regarding the release date.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has reportedly started rolling out the first beta update of this year for Android users. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the latest beta update comes with hidden references about a feature that will allow users to build community in future updates. As per the screenshot shared, a Community Has a name and a description, as seen on a group. After entering the name and details, users will get the option to create a new group or link up to 10 groups.
