Kolkata: The Bengal government on Saturday extended the 2% stamp duty concession and 10% reduction in circle rate for home buyers till March 31.
The SOAP was announced in the state budget on July 7, 2021, to boost demand due to the pandemic.
Initially till October 30, it was later extended till January 31, 2022, following arguments from developers’ body CREDAI. This time too, CREDAI had requested extension citing third wave and Paus month which Bengalis consider inauspicious for transactions.
