Ireland captain Andrew Balbirnie said that being called a full member of the ICC doesn’t make any sense and is currently just a name. I go back to that Lord’s Test because it was the highlight of my career. It’s very disappointing for young people to come that they might not have that experience again,” Balberni said.
The skipper said the two-match series would be a great opportunity to express himself after the disappointing T20 World Cup. “We were really disappointed about the T20 World Cup and this is a chance to just go out and try to play with a little bit of freedom and give people the confidence to go out and express themselves. It’s easy to say, but once that threshold is crossed we all have to go out and do it. We’ve seen a lot of good things here over the period,” Balberni said.
