Akshay Kumar’s Rowdy Rathore 2 will go on floors in 2022, confirms writer KV Vijayendra Prasad

It seems that the year 2021 is ending on an exciting note for the movie buffs. after the announcement of Salman KhanBajrangi Bhaijaan 2, another sequel to a superhit Bollywood film, is in the works. this time it is Akshay KumarRowdy Rathore, the masala entertainer of 2012. It was an official remake of the 2006 Telugu blockbuster Vikramarkudu directed by Prabhudheva. Sonakshi Sinha was also in the lead role in this film.

Confirming the news of the sequel writer of the original Telugu film, KV Vijayendra Prasad told Mid Day that he is working on the script of the film and it will go on floors by the end of 2022 next year.

He told Mid-Day, “I am currently writing the script for Rowdy Rathore 2. Bhansali sahab (Sanjay Leela Bhansali, producer) had approached me to write the sequel. I should be able to complete the script soon.”

The ‘RRR’ writer further added that Sonakshi and Akshay will return to their roles of Paro and Shiva. However, the film will not be a continuation of the prequel. “While the main characters of Shiv and Paro are expected to remain in the sequel, the story will not be where Rowdy Rathore ended. Hopefully it will go on floors eventually.”

The original film, Vikramarkudu, was helmed by Prabhudheva and starred Ravi Teja. Asked if Prabhudheva will head the second installment, Prasad said, “I don’t know about the director.”

A few days back Salman Khan also announced his return with the sequel of his film Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He made this announcement at the promotional event of RRR in Mumbai.
