RCB skipper Faf du Plessis commended his team’s effort to win the must-win game despite losing out on the toss and being put to bat first.
“It was a really good game, we scored 240 after losing the toss. The method and the aggression are good to see,” the South African began.
RCB have managed to stay alive in the tournament despite their horrendous start to the season and du Plessis cites honest conversations in the dressing room for the turnaround.
“Had some good conversations about making the same mistakes again and again. We changed our method and how we approached the game,” the 39-year-old said.
“Aggression with the bat was one of those. With the ball, we didn’t take enough wickets in the powerplay, so we spoke about that,” he elaborated.
He touched upon the necessity of players to hit their stride and maintain good form in order to put up points on the board.
“We needed a bit of form on our side, too. We had a few guys looking for runs and wickets. You fight for that and have to find a way. If you look now there are a few guys in really good form,” he explained.
He concluded by stating that he wants his side to stay true to the style of play that has helped them win their last four games.
“We want to stick to the style of play that we want to do, if we do that we’ll prove we are a really good team,” the opener signed off.
