‘We Are At Loss For Words’: BJP Mocks Rahul Gandhi Over Clip Of Him Being Prompted By Congress’ Jairam Ramesh

New DelhiThe BJP on Thursday hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after senior party leader Jairam Ramesh coached and corrected him during a press conference in the national capital. A clip of the press conference went viral in which Rahul Gandhi says, “Unfortunately I am a Member of Parliament.” They can make fun of it.

“Unfortunately for you, I am a Member of Parliament and as alleged by the four ministers in Parliament, it is my right to have an opportunity to speak on the floor of Parliament. It is my democratic right,” Gandhi said, Improving myself Union Minister Piyush Goyal shared a 25-second clip from Rahul’s press conference on his Twitter handle, “Unfortunately, we are at a loss for words…”

Union minister for education and skill development and entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan sarcastically replied, ‘Really unfortunate.’ BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla tweeted, ‘Well Jairam, it is unfortunate for us that he is an MP in the Parliament of August, he is cheating and cheating so badly.

Sad that he can’t even make a statement without being trained! Wonder who coached him for the foreign interference statement?” Rahul had earlier said he hoped to speak at length in Parliament.

So, what you are actually witnessing is a test of Indian democracy. After four BJP leaders make allegations about an MP, is that MP being given the same space as those four ministers or is he being told to keep quiet? That is the real question facing this country at this point of time,” Rahul said.

Responding to the reaction to the viral clip of Rahul being coached by Ramesh, the latter said it was another attempt by the BJP to divert public attention from the ‘Modani’ scam. I am pointing out to @RahulGandhi that the formulation of his statement will be distorted by BJP’s fake news machine. He immediately clarified.

We speak freely to the media without teleprompters. This is another attempt to divert attention from the Modni scam.

The BJP demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi over his remarks in Britain, while opposition members pressed for a Joint Parliamentary Committee inquiry into the report by US short-seller Hindenburg Research against the Adani group. Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were initially adjourned till 2 pm and later for the day amid protests from both the corridors.

The ongoing second part of the budget session began on March 13. The ruckus played out outside Parliament as well, with Rahul Gandhi saying he wanted to answer the ministers who leveled allegations against him in both houses.
