Yuzvendra Chahal and Joe Root became friends during their time with Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023

Yuzvendra Chahal and Joe Root have struck up quite the friendship during their time together for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023. Both had to bid goodbye to each other after the franchise was eliminated from the group stage.

Showcasing their bond, Rajasthan clubbed some of Chahal and Root’s golden moments together in a montage video, dropping it on Twitter with Kishore Kumar’s famous track “Chal Jata Hoon” as the background music.

The caption read, “We’re going to miss these two.”

Chahal surely loved the clip as the Indian spinner retweeted the video from his personal handle with three hearts emoji.

The video was well received by fans in Rajasthan who couldn’t contain their emotions seeing the two friends parting ways.

One fan highlighted Yuji’s reaction hugging Root at the end of the video and commented, “Yuzi who is passionate about Root is melting my heart,”

Another fan was quick to admit that Chahal is a “good-hearted” person.

One user found the video “heartwarming”.

From creating an Instagram reel to sharing the dance floor, Chahal and Root have been keeping their fans entertained apart from locking in hilarious banter.

The camaraderie between Chahal and Root first came to the fore when the cricketers set the internet on fire with their scintillating dance performance.

In that Instagram video, shared on April 6, Chahal can be seen welcoming Root to the IPL in his special “Yuzi Style”.

The star India spinner taught his RR teammate some quirky dance moves while shaking his feet to a peppy tune.

In another video shared, Chahal and Root were seen in a jovial mood at the Jaipur airport.

Chahal was seen riding a hand suitcase which was controlled by Root through the aerobridge to the terminal building. The franchise dubbed the arrangement a “suitcase taxi”.

Chahal was the best bowler for Rajasthan Royals this season. The legspinner wrapped up the campaign with 21 wickets under his belt.

Root, on the other hand, made his IPL debut this year from the Rajasthan team. The English batsman was included in the playing XI in two more games and scored 10 runs in total.
