Chennai Super Kings (CSK) needed 13 runs from the last six balls to win the rain-curtailed final against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Monday night in Ahmedabad. Experienced fast bowler Mohit Sharma was in the attack and did a brilliant job with the ball conceding just 3 runs from 4 balls. When it almost looked like a dead end for CSK, Ravindra Jadeja stepped in and helped his team create history. With 10 runs needed off the last two balls, the ace all-rounder hit a six and a four to take CSK to their fifth IPL title.

Speaking with the broadcasters, Jadeja dedicated the famous win to MS Dhoni.
“Feeling amazing, winning our fifth title in front of my home crowd. I am from Gujarat and it is a special feeling. This crowd has been amazing. They waited till late night for the rain to stop, I wish CSK fans Big congratulations to all who came to support us. I would like to dedicate this win to a special member of the CSK team, MS Dhoni,” Jadeja said.
“I was just thinking I needed to swing as hard as I could. I wasn’t thinking about where the ball was going, I was just trying to swing hard. I was supporting myself. Was doing and looking to hit straight because I know Mohit can bowl those slower balls.
A few days ago, several media reports claimed a possible rift between Dhoni and Jadeja. The guessing game started after Chennai defeated Delhi Capitals and the two CSK stars were seen having an intense conversation. The situation turned mysterious after Jadeja posted a cryptic tweet and later, his wife Rivaba Jadeja retweeted the same. However, an emphatic win in the final against Gujarat Titans has calmed things down in the CSK dressing room.
Earlier, Sai Sudarshan smashed a 47-ball 96 as Gujarat Titans put in to bat and scored 214 for four. Set a revised target of 171 in 15 overs after rain interrupted play at the start of the second innings of the final, which was pushed to the reserve day due to heavy rain, CSK won the final at a packed Narendra Modi Stadium.
