Watch: Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 1 teaser receives overwhelming response in theaters

The teaser of Mani Ratnam director Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 is now running in theaters along with other films and is receiving a great response. A fan saw the teaser of Mani Ratnam film while watching another film and shared a video of it on Twitter.

Ponniyin Selvan has a bunch of actors like Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R. Parthiban is in the lead roles.

The film is based on the 10th century Chola dynasty. The project revolves around the drama, dangers and crises faced by the Chola Empire located in the southern part of India. The film will also highlight the major wars, battles and enemies of the mighty empire. The flick is based on a novel of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy.

It is speculated that the historical fiction flick will be released in 5 parts. This takes place in the background of the Krishnamurthy novel, which was completely published in five volumes. This is also what the name Ponniyin Selvan Part-1 suggests.

Ponniyin Selvan is said to be one of the magnus opus projects of Mani Ratnam’s career. It has rocked the country due to its star-studded crew movie and projectiles. The trailer has told it all.

On the management front, Ravi Varman is the cinematographer while AR Rahman has been roped in as the music director. The production design was handled by National Award winning art director Thottara Tharani. Ponniyin Selvan will release across India on 30 September. The flick will release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages.
