VoltUp to set up 500 EV battery-swapping stations in Mumbai – Times of India

Mumbai-based battery swapping startup, VoltUp recently announced its partnership with Adani Electricity and Hero Electric to set up 500 electric mobility stations in Mumbai in the next 2 years, catering to over 30,000 riders daily.
Starting with 120 docks in 10 locations between Goregaon and Borivali, the partnership is planning to add 50 locations by end-2022 to cover the western line from Churchgate to Mira-Bhayandar.
VoltUp, Adani Electricity and Hero Electric have come together towards setting and scaling up the infrastructure to bridge the network, energy and technology gap, said the official statement.
Under this tie-up, VoltUp will be able to provide instant energy to Zomato delivery agents, for whom charging their 2-wheeler batteries prove to be challenging. Instant battery swapping will enable Zomato’s delivery partners in Mumbai to have seamless experience without worrying about the charging of batteries.
VoltUp offers battery swapping solutions for all electric 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler vehicles. With swappable batteries, VoltUp ensures a zero downtime to the users and hassle-free battery charging experience for the users.
VoltUp charging zones will enable battery swapping in less than 1 minute. These smart charging zones will be monitored via an Ops engine to maintain cell balancing and battery charging temperature.
“Adani Electricity’s dense network and Hero Electric’s manufacturing of advanced and affordable products resonate with VoltUp’s business model of providing a complete green solution to the EV industry,” says Siddharth Kabra, Co-founder and CEO, VoltUp.
“Our partnership with Voltup is yet another in the space, wherein we are enabling access to our dense and reliable Network, with a strong commitment to supplying 100% Sustainable Energy,” says Adani Electricity spokesperson.
