Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Vaccine War based on a true story, makers cast real people who braved covid pandemic

New Delhi: The shooting of filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri’s next announced film ‘The Vaccine War’ has begun. It is based on Indian scientists and people who have sacrificed their lives for more than two years to develop the most effective vaccine in the world battling the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. Taking to social media, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri released a video from the sets of the film with the caption, “From the sets of #TheVacineWar. Independence Day. 2023”. In the video, the filmmaker along with the film’s cast can be seen raising several slogans.

Now with the film gearing up for an Independence Day release, an insider has informed that based on the ‘true story’, the film will also feature true warriors of India. Talking about the same, the source says, “These are Sikh volunteers who helped in cremating the dead during the second wave, risking their lives. They volunteered to work in our film and helped us recreate the exact scenarios.”

The source further added, “Since #TheVaccineWar is a true story, we are casting as many real people as possible. We want this true story to be a collaborative film with the true warriors of India.
