New Delhi: Suspended wrestler Vinesh Phogat sent him an apology on saturday Indian Wrestling Federation (WFI), which barred her from competitions during the Tokyo Olympics on grounds of indiscipline, but the parent body still cannot allow her to compete in the upcoming World Championships.
Vinesh, who was ruled out of the Tokyo Games following her shocking quarter-final loss, was suspended by the WFI for not living and training with her Indian teammates and opted for her private one instead of the official one supplied by the Indian contingent. The sponsor’s singlet was suspended for sporting.
A day after his suspension, Vinesho He had disclosed his physical and mental struggle during the Games, where he did not have the services of his personal physio.
The 26-year-old replied to the notice sent to him by the WFI on Friday.
A source aware of the developments said, “WFI has received a reply and Vinesh has tendered an apology.”
“But it is quite possible that despite the apology, he may still not be allowed to travel to the World Championships,” sources said.
The WFI is not happy with the way private sports NGOs like OGQ and JSW, which sponsor many Indian athletes, are handling Indian wrestlers as they feel they are “spoiling” them.
WFI has said that it will not allow them to interfere in the affairs of senior wrestlers in future.

The trial is expected to take place in the last week of this month.
