Helmed by director Suresh Triveni, who had previously collaborated Knowledge shared for ‘Tumhari Sulu’, “It is my utmost pleasure to collaborate with T-Series and plenty of entertainment To work on Jalsa and with my wonderful crew and cast led by Vidya and Shefali. With Jalsa, we hope to engage, thrill and entertain moviegoers with a unique storyline of powerful characters and uncertain situations.”
Talking about her reunion with Jalsa and Suresh Triveni, Vidya Balan said, “I am very excited to collaborate with Suresh again. Tumhari Sulu was a unique, fun experience and I hope we create something special with Jalsa. Jalsa is a sharp yet human story and I can’t wait to start working on it first and then share it with the world. I am very happy to be reunited with Abudantia Entertainment and T-Series on Lioness’s Back and look forward to working with Shefali, whom I have admired for a long time, along with the rest of the amazing cast and awesome crew as well.
Actress Shefali Shah on the other hand shared, “I am so excited to be a part of “Jalsa”. It’s a story with such a unique point of view that when Suresh first told me about it, I knew I just had to do it. I am also looking forward to working with Vidya, whose work I have admired a lot. The film is also backed by a stellar supporting cast which includes Rohini HattangadiIqbal Khan, Vidhatri Bandi, Gurpal Singh and Surya Kasibhatla, (making their debut) in a special appearance alongside Manav Kaul. Written by Prajwal Chandrashekhar and Suresh Triveni, with dialogues by Hussain and Abbas Dalal, Jalsa is slated for a 2022 release.
