Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu will hold a virtual meeting with leaders of various parties and groups in the House on Monday evening to decide the agenda for the budget session of Parliament. It is customary for the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha to meet with leaders of various parties and groups before each session of Parliament to facilitate the smooth functioning of the House and to discuss the agenda of the session.
Sources close to Naidu said that the first such session-related virtual interaction would be held on January 31 at 5 pm. Naidu will return to Delhi on Sunday evening after a week-long home quarantine in Hyderabad after he tested positive for COVID-19 last week. The Budget Session of Parliament begins on Monday with President Ram Nath Kovind’s address to the joint sitting of both the Houses.
The Union Budget for 2022-23 will be presented in the Lok Sabha on February 1 at 11 am and will be presented in the Rajya Sabha in the evening.
