Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the Vande Bharat Express train on Sunday, January 15, on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. The program will be through video conferencing. Vande Bharat Express will run between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and Telangana Governor T Soundararajan will be present at Secunderabad station on the occasion.

According to railway sources, the regular service of this new train will start on January 16. The booking of tickets has started from Saturday. South Central Railway (SCR) informed that Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Express (20833) will leave Visakhapatnam at 5.45 am and reach Secunderabad at 2.15 pm. Whereas, the Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam train (20834) will leave Secunderabad at 3 pm and reach Visakhapatnam at 11.30 pm.

This is the 8th Vande Bharat Express train

Railways informed that the train has a passenger carrying capacity of 1,128 with 14 AC Chair Car and two Executive AC Chair Car coaches. This train will cover the distance between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam in about 8 hours. This will be the 8th Vande Bharat Express train started by Indian Railways.

First train connecting Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

Covering a distance of about 700 km, it is the first train to connect the Telugu speaking states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The train will stop at Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh and Khammam, Warangal and Secunderabad stations in Telangana.
