Vande Bharat Express Likely To Launch On Secunderabad-Nagpur Route Soon

The presence of Vande Bharat Express train is continuously increasing in India. This train is currently running on 17 routes and is ready to go to more states. As a part of this expansion, a new train unit will be introduced between Secunderabad and Nagpur. Reports suggest that the planning for the new entity to start under South Central Railway (SCR) is still underway. Once launched, the train is expected to reduce travel time by covering a distance of 581 km between the two cities.

Currently, the average travel time between Secunderabad and Nagpur is around 10 hours. However, with a semi-high-speed train, the time would come down to around 6 hours 30 minutes. It is to be noted that the authorities have already carried out trials on the route and deemed it suitable for semi-high-speed train operations.

Once operational, the train will cover several districts between the two cities, including Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and some cities in Maharashtra. The Secunderabad-Nagpur Vande Bharat Express is expected to stop at Kazipet, Ramagundam, Mancherial, Sirpur Kagaznagar and Balarshah. However, the details have not been confirmed yet.

Secunderabad currently already has two Vande Bharat trains which is improving its connectivity with various cities. Notably, the train currently operates on the Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad-Tirupati routes. Moreover, trains on these routes have been successful with routes with higher occupancy.

The indigenously developed Vande Bharat Express train is loaded with modern amenities for passengers like GPS based passenger information system, automatic sliding doors, reclining seats, CCTV cameras, diffused LED lighting and charging ports. In addition, the train is capable of going up to 180 kmph at top speed and currently runs at higher speeds on some routes.

Meanwhile, Indian Railways is also preparing to start semi-high-speed train on Patna-Ranchi route. The train recently completed its trial run on the route. During the trial, the train started its journey from Patna Junction and reached Ranchi via Gaya Junction. Railways will soon make the details of the train public, including fares and scheduled stoppages between the two cities. Once commissioned, it will be the first Vande Bharat Express train unit to operate in Bihar.
