In view of rising COVID cases, Uttarakhand government has made masks mandatory in all private and government schools

The COVID-19 situation in the country has deteriorated with a rise in the number of cases being reported. Precautionary guidelines have been communicated to the public to prevent the spread of Corona virus. Now, the Uttarakhand state government has made it mandatory to wear masks in all private and government schools.

director general of Education Bansidhar Tiwari from Uttarakhand put out a statement which read, “Students, teachers and other staff of private and government schools will have to come wearing masks and follow sanitiser-thermal screening.” He also said that schools have been instructed to maintain social distancing and Covid awareness campaign should be conducted in schools. Any person, be it a student or an employee, should be aware that not wearing a mask will not allow entry into schools.

After reviewing the status of Kovid-19 in a virtual way last week, Uttarakhand Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar issued instructions. All District Magistrates and Chief Medical Officers are required to follow the Covid rules laid down by the Central Government in June this year.

Earlier, in response to a rise in COVID-19 cases, the Karnataka government had made masks mandatory in indoor and closed places such as restaurants, buses, metro and flights, as well as in schools and colleges. School teachers have been instructed to ensure that students wear masks in the classroom. The decision was taken during a meeting on Covid preparedness organized by the Karnataka government. Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar chaired the meeting, which was also attended by Revenue Minister and State Disaster Management Authority vice-chairman R Ashok.
