Kumar said that the police have eliminated the big gang including the bandits. Shiv Kumar aka Dadua (22 July 2007), Ambika Patel aka Thokia (4 August 2008), Sundar Lal Alias Ramsia Patel (December 24, 2011), Sudesh Patel alias Balkharia (July 15, 2015) and Baluli Kol and Lovelesh Kol (September 15, 2019) in the hilly areas of Chitrakoot and on the UP-MP border between 2007 and 2019 . Now the target is Gauri Yadav.
After the elimination of the major gangs of Dadua, Thokia and Balkharia, other smaller gangs including Babuli Kol, Chunilal R and Ramgopal alias Guppa were not able to withstand the fashion of latest gadgets and copious wealth. These robbers were either killed in police encounters or arrested by UP and MP police.
The police, however, claimed that Gauri Yadav managed to obtain the sophisticated AK-47 rifle and was operating in Bahilpurwa, Patha and adjoining areas.
Meanwhile, STF officials said that after the elimination of Lavesh Kol and Babuli Kol at the UP-MP border in September 2019, Gauri Yadav and his gang have not committed any major crime, and were allegedly involved in extortion.
Gauri Yadav was also accused of killing a Delhi Police sub-inspector in Patha area in 2016.
