Saki said, “We’ve certainly seen the PRC [China’s] Comments, again, dismissing phase two of the WHO study. We are deeply disappointed. His position is irresponsible and clearly dangerous.”

He said the US wants much-needed access to data and samples from China. He stressed that while it is important to prevent the next pandemic, it is about saving lives in the future, not the time to pelt stones.

China’s bid to reject the phase-two study followed the inclusion of the possibility of lab leak theory in the WHO proposal. According to CNN reports, Zeng Yixin, the Chinese deputy head of the National Health Commission, that Beijing was surprised to see the lab leak listed as a research objective under the second phase of the investigation.

“In some aspects, WHO’s plan for the next-stage investigation of the origin of the corona virus does not respect common sense, and is against science. It is impossible for us to accept such a plan,” Yixin said.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has already urged Beijing to be transparent and open to cooperation. “We are indebted to the millions of people who died to know what happened, and to the millions who died,” he said.

On the other hand, China also confirmed that none of the staff of the Wuhan Institute of Zeng Yixin was infected with the virus. “No worker or researcher at the Wuhan Institute of Virology had been infected with the coronavirus before the first documented cases of COVID-19,” Yixin said.

In recent months, the lab-leak theory has garnered much attention, leading US President Joe Biden to ask the US intelligence team for a 90-day deadline to come to the details of the virus’s origins.

A team of WHO-led scientists, who traveled to China to investigate the origins of the virus in early 2021, struggled to get a clear picture of what research China was already doing during its visit. encountered obstacles, and had little power to conduct thorough and impartial operations. Research.
