Urvashi Dholakia became a household name after playing the role of Kamolika in Ekta Kapoor’s show ‘Kasauti Zindagi Ki’. While the actress had a huge fan following, during her eight-year-long successful run on TV, in her recent interview, the actress revealed that she was not offered any role after the show.
Urvashi, who welcomed twin boys Sagar and Kshitij at the age of 17, returned to work after their two sons grew up. She was a single mother to him after separating from her husband after a year and a half of marriage. In a conversation with Pinkvilla, the actress shared how people associate her with Komolika, Urvashi said, “By the time they started growing up, and I returned to work, I found a character that nobody was close to . The actress also revealed that Ekta Kapoor, who is the producer of Kasautii, told Urvashi that she would be “the next sex bomb on TV” when she cast him in the role. To that Urvashi laughed at Ekta’s comment saying, “I had nothing on my mind. I only thought I have to move on… I have responsibilities. All I wanted to do was do a good job.” “
During her 38 years in the industry, Urvashi has worked in popular shows like Dekh Bhai Dekh, Ghar Ek Mandir, Kabhi Sautan Kabhi Saheli, Mehndi Tere Naam Ki, and Kahin To Hoga. He also won the sixth season of the TV reality show, Bigg Boss. After spending so much time in the industry, she feels, “The industry has definitely evolved now. Meanwhile, the actor shared that his sons Kshitij and Sagar have persuaded him to remarry in the past. Urvashi says it’s not that she doesn’t want to take that path, there is one question which keeps troubling her. The actor believes that times have changed, and everyone’s life is determined, therefore, he doubts whether people are ready to accept a strong-minded girl or a strong-minded woman. . “Are they ready to accept it?
