UPSC CSE 2023: Unrest In Manipur Affects Civil Service Exam, Candidates Asked To Change Centre

Union Public Service Commission has provided seven options, Aizawl, Kohima, Shillong, Dispur, Jorhat, Kolkata and Delhi. UPSC CSE 2023 is scheduled on May 28

Union Public Service Commission Candidates from Manipur have been asked to change their exam centers due to tension in the state. The decision comes in view of the prevailing volatile conditions in the northeastern state following ethnic unrest. State candidates appearing for UPSC CSE 2023 have the option to select any alternate exam center from the list provided by the commission.

The Union Public Service Commission, in its notification dated May 16, wrote, “After carefully reviewing the situation in the State of Manipur in consultation with the State Administration, the Commission has decided to offer alternative examination centers to the candidates of Imphal (Manipur) Center Is. Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2023 which is to be held on May 28, 2023.

Candidates can change their exam center through the following means:-

Manipur candidates can call UPSC on one of the following numbers: 23070641, 23381073, 23384508, or 23387876, or they can visit any district government office in Manipur. Candidates can call between May 17 to May 19 from 12 noon to 5 pm.

Manipur candidates can visit UPSC official website upsc.gov.in from 12 noon on May 17 to 5 pm on May 19, Imphal center candidates can choose other centres.

Candidates of Imphal Center can avail change option through Interactive Voice Response System. A message will be sent to each registered students on their mobile number in this regard. Candidates can change their center through message.

Once the venue of the exam is changed, UPSC will send a confirmation text to the registered mobile number of the candidate. Manipur students need to download the fresh admit card after choosing their alternate centre. This facility will be available for those students who have changed their UPSC exam center. Candidates can download the new admit card from the official website of the Commission, upsc.gov.in.

Applicants from Manipur can also collect their new admit card from the district headquarters. The commission will also deliver e-admit cards to the candidates through post offices. Candidates are advised that only the hard copy of the admit card will be accepted by the authorities at the examination venues.
