The Bharatiya Janata Party today announced senior party leader Sunita Dayal as the BJP’s mayoral candidate for the Ghaziabad civic elections (Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation elections). There was a tough fight for this seat between Sunita Dayal and the current Mayor Asha Sharma. However, it is believed that Asha Sharma was facing strong anti-incumbency in this seat, and the same went in favor of Sunita Dayal Agarwal.
Who is Sunita Dayal Agarwal?
Sunita Dayal Agarwal is the vice-president of the state unit of the party. He started his political career in the year 2004 with ABVP, the student wing of BJP. He also contested the assembly elections in the year 2004 on a BJP ticket.
According to reports, Sunita was one of the top candidates for the post of Mayor from BJP in the year 2017.
