UP: Newborn dies in Kaushambi Hospital; Inquiry ordered. Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj : District Hospital Administration Manjhanpur In Neighboring Kaushambi District On August 15, the hospital has started investigation into the death of the newborn due to alleged medical negligence.
The child’s parents, in their complaint submitted to senior district health officials on Monday, alleged that their one-day-old child was burnt on the heating pad of a hot machine in the ailing neonatal care unit.SNCU) due to the negligence of the health workers on duty.
Chief Medical Superintendent (chief ministers) Dr Deepak Seth of District Hospital, Manjhanpur told TOI on Tuesday that an investigation into the allegation has been initiated.
“A comprehensive inquiry has been launched into the allegations of the parents of the child and action will be initiated against whoever is found guilty. We are recording the statements of the staff on duty at the time of the incident.”

After the woman gave birth to a baby on the same day, doctors on duty advised the parents to keep the newborn warm in the child care unit.
The child was shifted to a warmer machine but died on August 15.
After the child’s death, his family members created a ruckus in the hospital premises and the hospital authorities were forced to call the police.
Deputy SP (Manjhanpur) Krishna Gopal said on Tuesday, “A team of Manjhanpur police had gone to the district hospital on August 15 after the relatives of the deceased child created a ruckus in the hospital premises.
“The family members of the newborn, however, have not filed any complaint with the concerned police station. They have taken up the matter with the senior officials of the district hospital,” he said.
He said that the deceased’s father Javed has alleged that the health workers on duty were negligent towards treating his son and failed to maintain the hot temperature, which led to his death.
He also claimed that the hospital administration has apologized after the death of the newborn child but we are seeking justice.
