UP CM Yogi meets Vice President Naidu; Chances of meeting PM Modi next

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday met Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and BJP General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santhosh in his first visit to the national capital after the party won a sweeping victory in the assembly elections. After this, Adityanath is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and then BJP President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

Ready to take oath as chief minister for a second term, Adityanath’s talks with the party’s top leadership, including Shah and Nadda, are likely to focus on several issues related to government formation apart from formal exercises. Sources said that he is likely to stay here for two days. The BJP won 255 seats in the 403-member assembly. Two of its allies won another 18 seats. Political watchers believe that with the victory comes a boost to Adityanath’s stature as his leadership was at the center of the BJP’s re-election bid.
