Kanpur : Case has been registered against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vimal Bhadauriawho allegedly assaulted his associates Prashant Kumar Prasad, Etawah Additional Superintendent of Police during the voting for the post of Block Panchayat President on Saturday afternoon.
The police have also registered a case against 100-125 others for indulging in violence during polling.
SSP Etawah Brajesh Kumar Singh told reporters that Badhpura police station in-charge Jitendra Kumar Sharma A case has been registered in this regard.
Singh said, “A case has been registered against 100-125 people including BJP leader Vimal Bhadauria under sections 147, 148, 149, 323, 353, 307, 269, 270, 188, 51, 57, 3 and CCLA Act. ” .
Singh said that video footage has been collected against the accused as evidence.
He said that during the election, around 100 to 125 people led by BJP leader Vimal Bhadauria reached near the barrier at Udi intersection at around 1 pm and tried to forcibly remove the barricading in an attempt to reach the block premises.
On being stopped by the police, the angry mob started pelting bricks and stones on the policemen. Not only this, they were carrying sticks and sticks with them and also fired. When the ASP tried to stop him, he was pushed. The harassers hurled abuses. When Senior Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar Singh accompanying the ASP tried to save him, these people also misbehaved with him and attacked him with sticks.
The SSP also said that besides bricks, stones, shoes, slippers and sticks, seven empty cartridges have also been recovered from the spot.
