BJP will hold caste based convention in UP to woo voters ahead of 2022 assembly elections.

Sources said on Saturday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will organize a caste-based convention in the state in the next two months to woo voters in Uttar Pradesh. Conference to solve caste equations in elections in Uttar Pradesh.

There will be 200 conferences of small castes across the state. These conferences will start from Navratri and run till the end of November.

Notably, there are 79 castes that constitute the Other Backward Classes (OBC) in Uttar Pradesh, while 66 are Scheduled Castes (SC) and sub-castes. OBCs include several castes such as Nishad, Yadav, Saini, Kurmi, Lodh, Prajapati, Rajbhar, Maurya, Saini, Teli and Kushwaha and Valmiki, Jatav, Kori and Pasi in vote shares of many constituencies.

According to sources, the conventions will be held on the basis of the constituencies where the vote percentage is dominant in that assembly seat.

Sources said, “In the assembly where caste has influence, there will be a convention of that caste in that assembly.”

Sources said that apart from caste-based traditions, the BJP will also try to include influential people from such castes and sub-castes who do not belong to any political party.

“All state level and national party leaders belonging to these castes will also participate in these programmes,” he said.

Sources further said that all the leaders like Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghuvar Das, party leader Sushil Modi, SP Baghel, Kaushal Kishor and state president Swatantra Dev Singh will be entrusted with the responsibility of organizing their respective conferences. castes

He said that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also address several conferences. Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are to be held in 2022. In the 2017 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 312 seats out of the 403-seat Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, while the Samajwadi Party (SP) won 47 seats, the Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP). ) won 19 and Congress managed to win only seven seats.
