Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav provided a platform to honor the unsung heroes of the State who laid down their lives in the country’s freedom movement.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday said that his government will include chapters on unsung heroes of the state in the school curriculum.

Addressing the Foundation Day here, the Chief Minister said that the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided a platform to honor the unsung heroes of the State who laid down their lives for the country’s freedom movement.

“After extensive research and fieldwork, we have prepared a report on all the unsung heroes of the state, which was released today. Based on the history of the freedom fighters, we will soon introduce chapters in the school curriculum on their contribution to the country’s freedom struggle,” Khandu said.

Describing Arunachal as the Northeast of North Eastern States, the Chief Minister asserted that the State is developing, for which the region is also developing.

“Earlier the Northeast was a neglected region. But in the last eight and a half years, the Modi government at the center has brought a lot of development in terms of connectivity and other social sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, State Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Kaivalya Trivikram Parnaik highlighted the development in the border areas for which the State witnessed reverse migration.
