Union Minister Ashwini Choubey’s convoy car falls into a pit in Bihar, five cops injured

Patna: An escort vehicle in Union Minister of State (MoS) Ashwini Choubey’s convoy met with an accident injuring five policemen. The accident happened late on Sunday night when the Union Minister was going from Buxar to Patna. The car overturned and fell into the pit.

The minister shared the video on Twitter in which he can be seen inspecting the overturned escort vehicle.

Policemen were deployed at Koransarai police and the Innova car in which the Union Minister was riding was right behind the escort car. The injured policemen have been admitted to Dumraon Sub-Divisional Hospital and the condition of two is critical.

After the accident, Choubey’s personal security guards along with his other associates rescued him and admitted him to the hospital.

Choubey said, “The police van fell into a water-filled ditch. Our security personnel and other supporters traveling with me broke the glass panes of the vehicle and saved them. Two policemen received serious injuries.”

Choubey further said that since two policemen had serious injuries, they were taken to Patna AIIMS for better treatment.

The accident happened on the Mathila-Narayanpur road near Dumraon.

Ashwini Kumar Choubey is the Member of Parliament from Buxar and Minister of State for Environment and Forests in the Narendra Modi government.

He had come to Patna to meet the agitating farmers in Chausa and had to face stiff opposition from them a few days ago.
