Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, Ireland lost three wickets early and were reduced to 22/3 in just four overs.
But then Henry Tector came in and started smacking the ball across the park. The Indian bowlers had no answer for Tector’s attack, as the Irishman scored 64 off 33 balls at an astonishing strike rate of 193.9. Led by Tector’s innings, Ireland finished with 108 after 12 overs.
Making his debut, Umran Malik bowled just one over and conceded 14 runs.
Chasing the target of 109 runs, Ishan Kishan gave India a good start by scoring 26 runs in just 11 balls. Hooda opened instead of Gaikwad. He formed a match-winning partnership with skipper Hardik Pandya, before Pandya was dismissed at the end of the chase. Hooda scored 47 runs in 29 balls for India and ended the game Dinesh Karthik,
