UIDAI plans to open 166 standalone Aadhaar enrollment and update centers

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) plans to open 166 standalone Aadhaar enrollment and update centers across the country, an official statement said on Saturday. At present, 55 Aadhaar Seva Kendras (ASKs) out of 166 planned centers are operational, apart from around 52,000 Aadhaar enrollment centers operated by banks, post offices and state governments.

“UIDAI is planning to open 166 stand-alone Aadhaar Enrollment and Updation Centers in 122 cities across the country,” the statement said.

ASKs are open on all days of the week and have served more than 70 lakh residents including persons with disabilities so far.

The operational centers have the capacity to handle 1,000 enrollment and update requests per day for Model-A ASK, 500 enrollment and update requests per day for Model B ASK and 250 enrollment and update requests per day for Model C ASK. is capacity.

So far more than 130.9 crore Aadhaar numbers have been generated.
