UGC will allow students to pursue two full-time degree courses simultaneously

New Delhi: In a bid to improve the career prospects of students, the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Tuesday allowed students to pursue two full-time degree programs simultaneously in physical mode, news agency PTI reported.

UGC President Jagdish Kumar said, “UGC allows students to pursue two full-time degree programs simultaneously in physical mode.”

“Students can pursue two degree programs from the same university or different universities simultaneously,” he said.

Detailed guidelines will be issued by the University Grants Commission in this regard.

“As announced in the new National Education Policy (NEP) and to allow students to acquire multiple skills, the UGC is coming up with new guidelines to enable a candidate to pursue two degree programs simultaneously in physical mode. be allowed to do. The degree can be obtained either from the same or from different universities,” Kumar said at a press conference.

Earlier students were allowed to pursue only one undergraduate program in India. The decision will provide an opportunity to the students to study multiple subjects from different faculties in the same or other institutions.
