Describing the UCC as malicious, KCR said that there are many burning issues before the country, their solution is necessary first.

The process of protesting against the Uniform Civil Code continues. Now Bharat Rashtra Samithi chief and CM K Chandrasekhar Rao in Telangana has also come against it. KCR has instructed MPs to chalk out a strategy against the UCC if it is proposed in the monsoon session.

A delegation of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board met KCR on Monday and sought his support in opposing the UCC.

A team of Muslim Personal Law Board met KCR. In which Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, AIMIM’s Akbaruddin Owaisi, KT Rama Rao and Mohammad Mahmood Ali were also present.

What did KCR say…

  • BJP is conspiring to divide people in the name of UCC for political gains by ignoring development.
  • We will categorically reject such decisions of the Center which will destroy the unity and integrity of India.
  • UCC will increase confusion among tribals. This will threaten secularism and will cause a jolt to the identity of classes following traditions, customs and culture.
AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi, who reached the meeting, also appealed to KCR to oppose the UCC.

KCR asked to prepare for strategy
Chandrasekhar Rao after the meeting said that his party BRS would strongly oppose the UCC bill if it is introduced in the monsoon session of Parliament. Will also support like-minded political parties. He directed BRS parliamentary party leaders Keshav Rao and Nama Nageswara Rao to prepare an action plan in this regard in both the Houses of Parliament.

Board wrote – UCC will be imposed uniformity
Earlier, the board had written a letter to Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao saying that the move to introduce UCC would be an imposed uniformity that would subvert the Constitution and replace it with theocracy. The diversity of cultures cannot be disturbed under the guise of uniformity or equality.
