Two Youths Hit By Speeding Car In Rajkot, Die On Spot | Rajkot News – Times of India

Rajkot: Two youths were killed after a speeding car hit him them around 2.30am on Tuesday on Gondal road in Rajkot. The two were going home on foot from their work place, a pav bhaji restaurant. The three occupants of the car ran away abandoning the vehicle at the accident site.
According to police, the two victims were identified as Santosh alias Babu Rav (18) and Sunil alias Sonu Varma (19). They were natives of Beerpur village in Uttar Pradesh. Santosh had got married three months back and come to Rajkot for a livelihood while Sonu was working here for the last one year. They both lived in a rented room near the restaurant.
Restaurant owner Girish Dharamdasani told police, “ I was locking my restaurant after all the employees had left. I suddenly heard an explosion and the lights went off. I ran to the road and saw that Santosh and Sunil were hit by a speeding car. After hitting them, the car collided with an electric pole.”
According to police, Dharamdasani saw three people abandoning the car and running away.
“The car was being driven at a speed of about 100km/hour. The two young men received serious head injuries. Dharamdasani immediately called 108 ambulance but the two died before the ambulance came,’’ said Rajkot A Division police.
The car is owned by Jaydeep Sardhara, a resident of 150 feet ring road. He presented himself the before police on Wednesday morning after he got the news of the accident. He told the police that he had given the car to one Bhavesh Gadhvi for a ride. He had been introduced to Gadhvi by his cousin and he wanted to sell the car. Gadhvi had borrowed the car from him for a test drive.
