The foundation of investment was laid but there was no concrete policy on the return of Pandits.

Two years are being completed in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. With the removal of Article 370, the special status status given to the state was abolished and the state was divided into two union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. It was then said that this would bring peace and prosperity in the state. Also, the way for the return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley will be easy. But Kashmiri Pandits claim that the central government has so far failed to get them back in the Valley.

Satish Mahaldar, president of Reconciliation Return and Rehabilitation of Migrants, an organization fighting for the rights of Kashmiri Pandits, says that ‘all governments have failed to resettle Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley. The administration talks about the restoration of 50,000 temples in Kashmir. Where is that temple now? When the pundits are not here, who will go and pray in these temples? The government has failed to investigate the killings of Kashmiri Pandits, Muslims or Sikhs over the years. What was said on August 5, 2019, is yet to get off the ground.

Stone pelting and strikes stopped in the valley, but not the end of violence

Incidents of stone pelting and strikes have come down in Kashmir, but the violence has not stopped. In 2020, 225 terrorists were killed and 60 security personnel were martyred in separate encounters. In 2019, 148 terrorists were killed. Till June this year, 58 Kashmiri youths also joined militancy, which is a matter of concern for the security agencies. Here, according to the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce, five lakh jobs have been lost in the Kashmir region. The economy here has suffered a loss of about Rs 17,800 crore.

Quick Recruitment Committee constituted to fill the vacant posts
The administration had promised employment to 50,000 youths. On this, officials say that the process has been delayed due to Kovid. Rapid Recruitment Committee has been constituted to fill up 16,073 posts.

Efforts to give global recognition to Kashmiri art
The administration is working on GI tagging of Kashmiri carpets, carvings, chikri crafts, phulkari, etc., in a new scheme approved by the Center recently, to make the art of Kashmir recognized globally.

Kovid slows down, soon a big change will be seen
Nasir Aslam Wani of the National Conference says that after August 5, Jammu and Kashmir has lagged behind. At the same time, BJP state president Ravinder Raina says that new industries are being set up. You will get employment. Soon a big change will be seen.
