Police will conduct narco test of accused in Jharkhand judge's death case

Narco test, layered voice analysis and brain mapping of both the accused arrested in the case of alleged murder of Additional District Judge Uttam Anand will be done by Dhanbad police.

“Police have got permission from Dhanbad court to conduct four tests including narco, layered voice analysis and brain mapping of both the accused arrested in the case. The tests will be done at Gujarat FSL. We are approaching Gujarat FSL. We will do a one-time process. The date is confirmed from him, said Sanjeev Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Dhanbad district.

The Jharkhand government on Saturday recommended a CBI inquiry into the matter.

To this the SSP said, “The state government has recommended a CBI inquiry into the matter. Our investigation will continue till the time CBI takes over. Various teams are interrogating and investigating at different places.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up to probe the matter submitted its progress report in the Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday. The court was informed through the Advocate General that the state government has decided to transfer the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The court said that it will continue to monitor the matter.

Last week, officer-in-charge of Pathardih police station Umesh Manjhi was suspended from his services in connection with the alleged murder of Additional District Judge Uttam Anand.

Judge Uttam Anand was reportedly killed after a vehicle hit him near Dhanbad’s Magistrate Colony on July 28.

Two persons involved in the alleged murder were arrested and the auto used in the crime has also been confiscated. Inspector General (Ops) Amol Vinukant Homkar said the accused, identified as Lakhan Kumar Verma and Rahul Verma, have confessed to their crime.
