After Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia visited government schools in Gujarat, a political war is brewing on Twitter with people comparing the education system and government schools in the national capital and Gujarat. With the upcoming elections in the state, AAP minister Sisodia pointed out that schools in Gujarat are in bad shape after 27 years of BJP rule in the state, with the hashtag #GujaratkeSchoolDekho. The BJP-led state is also leaving no stone unturned to point out the similar condition of schools in the capital.
Sisodia, who also holds the education portfolio in Delhi, visited two government schools in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar, the hometown of state education minister Jitu Vaghani. Sharing pictures of several government schools, he claimed that the condition of the campus is bad and their walls are covered with nets and the toilets stink. He also said that the guest teachers are managing the schools on their monthly salary.

This is the condition of the government school after 27 years of BJP rule in Gujarat. To make India a world guru, our schools will also have to be made world class.
We cannot imagine a progressive society without giving good education to the children.#GujaratKeSchoolDekho#GujaratKeSchoolDekho#GujaratKeSchoolDekho pic.twitter.com/5P5zI0DH1Y

Criticizing AAP, West Delhi BJP MP Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma has claimed that Delhi’s government schools are in an equally pathetic condition. Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “Kejriwal’s world class education model exposed.”
He also invited the education and health ministers of the BJP from Gujarat to visit government schools and mohalla clinics in Delhi. He also tweeted videos of Delhi government schools he visited, saying he was informed by staff that children were forced to study in a building that was declared “dangerous”.
Like Sisodia, the BJP MP shared photographs of broken walls and roofs of school buildings from Delhi. He said that AAP is doing advertisements worth crores of rupees but when it comes to reality of education it is all lies and fraud and schools are still running tin sheds.
