Putting an end to all speculation on Monday, the BJP announced that Saha would return as the chief minister of Tripura, with the party’s legislature wing electing him unanimously.
The Council of Ministers headed by Saha will also take the oath of office and secrecy with him today.
Union Home Minister Shah and BJP chief Nadda have already reached Tripura to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP-led government. PM Modi is scheduled to reach Agartala from Guwahati at around 10.35 am.

Tripura Congress president and former minister Birjit Sinha claimed that over a thousand incidents of violence have taken place in Tripura since the declaration of the results of the assembly elections on March 2.
Holding the BJP responsible for the post-poll violence, the Congress leader said at least three people were killed and over 200 injured in a series of incidents of violence.
Sinha alleged that several properties including rubber plantations, shops, business establishments, vehicles and houses were destroyed and burnt during the violence, which is still going on.
The Tripura Congress chief also threatened to launch a state-wide agitation if the violence did not stop immediately.
Jitendra Chowdhary, Tripura CPI-M secretary, said: “In the wake of the series of attacks since March 2, thousands of people, including women and children, fled their homes and took refuge in forests and outside the state.”
