KOLKATA: A 19-year-old girl was allegedly dragged out of her house and raped by four youths behind a bush in Titagarh on on Thursday night.
Police arrested three of the accused on Friday and they will be produced in a Barrackpore court on Saturday. The fourth accused is absconding. The incident took place around 9.30pm when the victim was sitting outside her house near Kalabagan in Titagarh.
The victim alleged that one of the accused introduced himself as the brother of local Trinamool councillor Arman Mondal. “The law will take its own course,” said Mondal. Hundreds of locals staged a protest in front of Titagarh police station, while some BJP supporters put up a blockade on BT Road.
