Three Held For Displacing Mushar Families From Palamu Village | Ranchi News – Times of India

DALTONGANJ: Three people belonging to the minority community were arrested by Pandu police on Tuesday for reportedly intimidating and forcing 42 families belonging to the Mushar community, a Mahadalit group, to leave Murumatu village, said SDO Rajesh Kumar Sah.
“The three accused were identified as village head Israr Ahmad, Mumtaz Ansari, and Sheikh Ahmad. They were remanded in judicial custody today (on Wednesday),” he added. Police are on the lookout for nine more named accused, besides 100 to 150 unidentified people.
Sadai Mushar on Tuesday lodged an FIR (48/22) at Pandu police station under sections of 147,148, 149, 341, 323, 447, 427, 504, 506 of the IPC besides sections of the SC-ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.
SDPO Surjit Kumar said, “Pandu police nabbed the three on Tuesday. Sadai Mushar claimed that they were living at Murumatu for over past 10 years”
The FIR, a copy of which is with the TOI, states that the members of the minority community, including 12 named and 100 to 150 unidentified people, on Monday ransacked the dwellings of the victims. They also allegedly raised caste slurs against the Mushars and arranged vehicles for the victims to leave for Loto under Chhaterpur police station, the FIR added.
