His statement comes a day after the two factions of the Shiv Sena came face to face at the party’s office at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters in south Mumbai.

Shiv Sena faction chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday hit out at Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who is leading the party’s rival camp, saying those who do not have the courage to build anything resort to theft and capture.

His statement comes a day after the two factions of the Shiv Sena came face to face at the party’s office at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters in south Mumbai. The clash went on for about an hour before the police intervened.

Speaking to reporters at the Maharashtra Legislature complex here, Thackeray said the government was yet to give a proper response to supplementary demands of Rs 52,000 crore, incentives for Vidarbha and farmers affected by unseasonal rains.

“Those who do not have the guts to build and steal anything,” Thackeray said.

“They have an inferiority complex and then they steal others’ parties and offices,” he said.

Shinde faction MP Rahul Shewale, former civic body’s standing committee chairman Yashwant Jadhav and former corporator Sheetal Mhatre, belonging to the Shinde-led Balasahebchi Shiv Sena, entered the party office on Wednesday evening after a clash broke out in the BMC.

Sources said former corporators from the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction, including Ashish Chemburkar and Sachin Padwal, objected to his presence, which led to heated exchanges.
