“He made a lot of mistakes. You can see it for yourself, it’s very disappointing. My heart goes out to you. It’s not easy to bear a loss like this.

“Ask your experts or anyone else, India never seemed to take the field today and it was very disappointing to see. And secondly, India’s bowling seemed very mediocre to me. Apart from Bumrah, no other bowler was playing up to his potential. Varun Chakraborty managed things a bit but rest of the bowling was absolutely average,” Shoaib told Zee News

“I couldn’t understand how they would play like this. And what if you lose the toss. Is this taking your life? They conceded defeat only after losing the toss.”

Akhtar further said that he is worried about India’s next match against Afghanistan. He insisted that the Indian management needs to re-evaluate their strategies before going ahead with the tournament.

He said, ‘You just changed the batting order, played quick shots, Shami bowled too late, Shardul looked average… and now I am worried about facing Afghanistan in his next match. Spin will destroy India’s batting if they win the toss in Abu Dhabi.

“They have to go back to the drawing board and think whether they want to play cricket on Instagram or on the field. Organize your bowling unit somehow,” concluded Shoaib.
