There should be transparency between Virat Kohli and BCCI: Rajkumar Sharma, childhood coach of India’s Test captain

Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma has given his opinion on the explosive press conference of Team India’s Test captain Virat Kohli. Rajkumar was taken aback by Kohli’s comments on Wednesday as he claims that there should not have been a communication gap between the 33-year-old and the BCCI.

Kohli refuted Ganguly’s statement during his explosive press conference on Wednesday before leaving for the South Africa Test series. The press conference has thrown the BCCI into question as the cricket board and the president are blamed for the poor handling of Kohli’s dismissal.

“Whatever was said about the communication that had happened regarding the decision was wrong. I was contacted for the Test series on December 8, an hour and a half before the selection meeting and after announcing my decision on T20I captaincy There was no prior communication from me,” Kohli said.

Kohli’s childhood coach declined to comment further on the matter and said it was shocking news for him as well.

“It is definitely shocking and it is also news to me that Virat Kohli said something like this in the press conference. What comment should I make, why this happened and why this should not have happened,” Rajkumar told India News.

The 56-year-old also gave his opinion on whether Kohli’s current form was behind the change in captaincy and said that whatever decision the selection committee has taken, he must have thought about it well.

He said, ‘I would not like to comment much on this. All I would like to say is that he is in power and whatever decision he has taken, he must have taken it after careful consideration and my statement in this regard has no significance, whether he has done right or wrong.

He further claimed that there should not have been a communication gap between Kohli and the Indian Cricket Board.

“It is something unusual that I have heard, I have not even seen Virat’s press conference. This communication gap should not have happened. I think there should be transparency between them and I don’t know why this happened or why there was such a communication gap.”

The Indian Test captain also rubbished the rumors of his missing in the ODI series against South Africa. He said that he was and is available for ODIs.

“Virat never wants to leave the game, he is always ready to play. The news was definitely shocking that he has sought leave because of his daughter’s birthday. His birthday is on 11th and he will be playing a Test match at that time.”
