MUMBAI: For the fifth time this month, the daily Covid tally in Mumbai surpassed 500 (546) on Thursday. The city has recorded the highest increase in cases in a state that currently has less than 100 active cases in 17 districts.
“The slight increase in numbers is due to the unlocking process. Since August 16, we have opened trains, restaurants, schools and places of worship, which may result in crowding and social interaction, which may further lead to transmission,” said the BMC additional commissioner. Suresh Kakani.
