Abhishek Verma, a resident of Darshan Vihar in Burari, allegedly killed his aunt Babita Verma (52) and her son Gaurav (27). Both were found dead inside their house in Raj Nagar on Tuesday evening.
Gaurav’s father Krishna Swaroop Sudhir, Air Force, accountant at Air Force Station Palam, reported the incident to Palam village police station at 7.08 pm, when he reached home and found both of them lying dead on the second floor of the house.
During investigation, police recovered an e-rickshaw while scanning the CCTV footage in which the accused fled from the spot. The driver of the e-rickshaw told the police that the man paid his fare through the mobile application. A senior police officer said that when they opened the application, they came to know that the person was Abhishek Verma.
When the police investigated, it was found that Abhishek is a relative of the deceased. He said that he was present during the post-mortem and other activities to distract the attention of relatives and police, adding that the accused has been apprehended.
“Abhishek is Gaurav’s cousin and Babita’s nephew,” said deputy commissioner of police (southwest) Pindit Pratap Singh. He alleged that his aunt mentally tried to return the money taken from him for her sister’s wedding in December. harassed by.” .

On Sunday too, Abhishek had come where there was an altercation between them over money.
On Tuesday, he had come with the plan of murder. He was carrying extra clothes with him. He reached Dashrathpuri metro station by scooter. Police said he took an e-rickshaw from there to reach the victim’s house and went upstairs to the second floor.
He said that Babita kept harassing Abhishek and abusing him, due to which the accused got enraged and he killed her. Later, he killed his brother as he was a witness, the police said. When he was coming down, he opened the cupboard to divert the attention of the police, they said, adding that he took the DVR with him while leaving the spot.
The accused got down near the CCD of Dashrathpuri metro station by taking an e-rickshaw. The e-rickshaw driver asked her about the blood on her face, but she did not respond. When he was giving money to the e-rickshaw driver, the note was torn and the driver refused to take it. Later, Abhishek used the UPI application to pay the rent, police said.
Police said that Abhishek has a cosmetic shop in Burari.
