“We were clueless when Vivek discussed the film with us. We had no idea about how to approach this project. One wrong note will change the entire direction of the film. After watching the film five to six times, my composer and I realized that we need to give music to reactions rather than actions. It is about reacting to the pain, suffering and suffering of the loss that we have all gone through at some point or another. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley.
Currently in his ancestral home in Jorhat, Upper Assam, Tapan Jyoti Dutta, whose long list of film and solo credits underscore his diverse range of talent. His latest projects include ‘The Tashkent Files’ directed by Vivek Agnihotri, Latin American action thriller ‘Enradados, la Confusion’ directed by Scott Steiner, Nancy Doubles and Prabhakar Sharan and ‘Anarkali of Jarrah’ starring Swara Bhaskar.
He previously worked in the 2015 film ‘Gutrun Gutargun’ directed by Prateek Sharma, and in 2014 he worked as an assistant composer for the Hindi film ‘Shortcut Safari’ directed by Amitabh Singh and played the role of Bollywood actor Jimmy Shergill.
According to Dutta, currently there are more than 80 successful Assam talents in Bollywood involved in technical and creative genres apart from producing music.
“It is a must-watch film that tells the hidden story of Kashmir that I believe every Indian who loves this country should watch. States like Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Tripura have made the film tax free. I will request Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to make the film tax free in our state so that more and more people can watch the film.”
